Maria Farmer Warned Them in 96' - Virginia Giuffre Paid the Price. Emails from the Epstein Victims.
Maria Farmer was the first person to report Jeffrey Epstein to the FBI. That was 1996. 29 years later she is still fighting. Two cancers, no compensation, no protection, while sending desperate emails into the void. Virginia Giuffre gave everything to bring Maxwell down, and she died by suicide on April 25, 2025. The day after, Maria wrote the most devastating email in the entire federal archive. This is their story. It has never been told like this before.

We need to begin with a date:
April 25 2025. That is the day Virginia Giuffre — one of the most prominent Epstein survivors, the woman who took on Prince Andrew himself in federal court, the woman other survivors credited with giving them the courage to speak up — died tragically by suicide at her farm in Neergabby, Western Australia. Virginia Giuffre was only 41 years old. She had been in a long custody battle that was keeping her from her three children for months, and, she had been in a car accident on March 25 2025. She had been, in the words of those closest to her, ‘unable to take it anymore.’
The following day of Virginia’s passing, on April 26, a woman named Maria Farmer sent an email to the FBI. The subject line reads: ‘Everyone thought it was a game.’
It was addressed to David Boies, Sigrid McCawley, Jennifer Freeman, and others. Lawyers at the center of the Epstein civil litigation. It was written in the fractured voice of a grieving soul who had been aching, screaming out for years and had almost run out of voice.
Then, there’s EFTA01652628.
This document names plenty of people in the independent media space Maria and other victims believed were coordinating a campaign to discredit Epstein survivors.

The Emails
Two weeks later, on May 8, she wrote again EFTA01653010 — subject: Abusing Public victims has real consequences. It was addressed to many, with many being redacted. The names left unredacted include:

“She died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound last week at her home in Australia. My raison d’ètre was Virginia. I’m an old woman without children. I wanted to have a child like V, brave and strong. She was pure LIGHT.”

I have been sitting with these documents for weeks, and I need to tell you what is in them — and why nobody else has put it together like this.
Maria Farmer: The Woman Who Told the FBI First

Maria Farmer is an American born fine arts artist. Born in Paducah, Kentucky, she moved to New York City in 1993 to study at the New York Academy of Art, earning her master’s degree in 1995. She was talented, beyond, and building something real. Then Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell came to her graduate showcase and decided they wanted to use her.
In the summer of 1996, they hired her as an artist in residence at Les Wexner’s Ohio estate, where she was assaulted there by Epstein and Maxwell. Her 15 year old sister Annie Farmer, was flown separately to Epstein’s NM property, Zorro Ranch, where she was also assaulted by the network.

On August 29 1996, Maria called the NYPD. They referred her to the FBI, and on September 3 1996, she filed a formal complaint with federal agents — handwritten in FBI paperwork, detailing what Epstein and Maxwell had done, warning that there were other girls, that Epstein was threatening to burn her house down, that this was a criminal network that needed to be stopped immediately.
The FBI did nothing for an entire decade.
In 2002, Maria tried again — this time through journalism and media. Maria, her sister, and her mother gave their full accounts to Vicky Ward, an investigative journalist then writing for Vanity Fair. Ward believed their testimony and did the reporting. The story was real and it was documented and it named Epstein and Maxwell and what they had done. Then editor Graydon Carter cut Maria and her family from the final piece entirely — Carter later said he had been “pressured by Epstein to remove them.”
The FBI had failed her in 1996 and now, the press had too.
Vicky Ward has since said publicly that removing their accounts was one of the ‘greatest regrets’ of her career. The story that could have reached the public 6 years before Virginia Giuffre was ever trafficked — that could have stopped the network before it reached hundreds more — was killed before it even ran.
What happened next is documented in EFTA01652628. After years of institutional silence, Maria tried to get the truth out through independent media channels. She reached out to Whitney Webb, because she wanted to trust people she believed were outside the system that had failed her. What followed was another form of destruction — this time from within the very community she had turned to for help.
She says she was sexually assaulted by her own attorney, Stanley Pottinger. She says that rather than this being addressed, it was weaponized against her — used by what she calls WEBBMORE to label her a CIA plant and destroy her credibility in the independent media space. Johnny Vedmore — Webb’s partner at the time — was among those publicly stating her testimony should be ‘inadmissible’ and that she ‘lies every second word.’ This is documented in the federal record.
The label stuck, and the woman who had reported Epstein to the FBI in 1996, whose Vanity Fair account was killed by editorial pressure, who had fought two cancers while seeking justice — was now being called a CIA operative by the people she had trusted to tell her story.
Maxwell threatened Maria’s life and her career in New York’s art world was systematically destroyed. She fled the city and spent years hiding, moving, trying to stay safe, and watching the world she had worked so hard to build, disappear.

In early 2019 she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, then Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Two cancers, simultaneously, while fighting for recognition of what had been done to her for 23 horrific years.
On April 16 2019, Maria filed a sworn affidavit in federal court in New York alleging she and her sister had been sexually assaulted by Epstein and Maxwell in 96’. Epstein was arrested that July and died in prison that August.
When the DOJ released her original 1996 FBI handwritten complaint in December 2025, Maria said it was one of the best days of her life. Then she said she was also crying tears of sorrow for Virginia Giuffre and all the other victims the FBI failed by not listening to her originally back in 1996.
If they had listened, Virginia Giuffre would never have been trafficked, and that is a documented fact, confirmed by Maria’s lawsuit against the federal government filed May 29, 2025.

Emails From Maria Farmer
The emails Maria and other Epstein victims sent in April and May 2025 — filed in Document Set 10 of the DOJ’s Epstein release records including EFTA01652016, EFTA01652628, and EFTA01652466 — are some of the most devastating documents in the entire archive.
She is writing to FBI agents. To David Boies and Sigrid McCawley — to her attorney Jennifer Freeman — to James R. Marsh. She is writing because there is nowhere else left to go.
She says she has been given zero protection as a federal and state whistleblower for six years. She says Maxwell threatened to murder her on multiple occasions over decades and she says a felon named George B. Tonks stalked her from prison and she reported it to the DOJ, Chicago Police, and NYPD, and nothing was done. She says the Royal Family and Maxwell associates have harassed, stalked, and smeared her continuously, and, she says she is back in hiding.
She says she fought two cancers during all of this without meaningful support. She says she received virtually nothing in compensation while watching other women receive enormous civil settlements — women who, in her telling, participated in Epstein’s operation as adults for years, while she was the person who went to authorities first, who gave the testimony that made the arrests possible, and who got left with nothing.
She says Sigrid McCawley and David Boies told her and her sister they had no right of appeal on the compensation decision. She says that was a lie, deliberately told to protect the settlement structure.
Maria says that former Manhattan DA, Cy Vance, promised to assist her until David Boies was too busy. She says the FBI erased one of her reports, and she needs NYPD to declare her a state witness — she says NYPD refused.

These are Maria’s claims. I cannot independently verify every single one, but they were sent directly to FBI agents and to some of the most prominent attorneys connected to the Epstein litigation — and the public record contains no evidence that anyone responded.
That silence is its own answer.
Virginia Giuffre: She Just Couldn’t Take It Anymore
The following paragraph describes specific details of Virginia's death that some readers may find distressing.
Virginia Giuffre was born Virginia Roberts in Sacramento, California in 1983. She was 16 years old and working as a locker room attendant at Mar a Lago when Ghislaine Maxwell approached her and her entire world changed forever. She was trafficked for years. She was, she said, Epstein’s slave.
Then, she fought back.
She was one of the first and loudest voices demanding criminal accountability for Epstein. Other survivors credited her with giving them the courage to come forward and she sued Prince Andrew for sexual abuse — settling for a reported $12 million in 2022. She helped bring Maxwell down, providing critical information to law enforcement. She built a nonprofit for trafficking survivors and she wrote a memoir. It was released in October 2025, 6 months after her death.
She paid the price for all of it, for twenty years.
In early 2025: a car accident that seriously injured her, a domestic violence incident. A restraining order that kept her from seeing her three children for six months during an ongoing divorce. She wrote publicly: ‘I have been through hell and back in my 41 years but this is incredibly hurting me worse than anything else.’
She had told people close to her that she planned to end her life and she had described the method. Her representative said: ‘She just couldn’t take it anymore. It wasn’t a dramatic conversation. It was very matter of fact.’
On April 25, 2025, Virginia Giuffre died by suicide at her farm in Neergabby, Western Australia. She was 41. Her family said: ‘She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors.’
Years before her death, she had posted: ‘I am in no way, shape or form suicidal. If something happens to me — do not let it go away.’
Her father does not believe it was suicide, and the coroner’s investigation is ongoing.
The Emails Written After
On April 26, 2025 — the day after Virginia died — Maria Farmer sent the email with the subject line ‘Everyone thought it was a game.’
She describes a woman: A beautiful mother, a hero, her muse. Someone she would have given anything to hug and someone who inspired her art for seven years. Someone she lived in fear for, every single day.

Usury. She uses that word in the April 26 email — the word for extracting everything from someone who has nothing left to give. I sat with that word for a long time.
Nobody answered these emails. Not the lawyers, not the FBI agents they were addressed to — Nobody. That is except for, Ryan Dawson.
Ryan Dawson, who was cc’d, replied:
I put this on twitter. Stop saying was killed. You are scaring the shit out of the other victims. I've been calming down panicked women all day. This isn't some joke. THINK before you write stuff. These are real people. has a family. I really hate conspiracy kooks. You do not know the full extent of this story. Trust me you don't. And you don't have to but you do know that you don't know so stop flippantly guessing just because it good for the memes. I swear our social society is pure rot. People will do anything for clicks. Stop monetizing other people's suffering. was absolutely heart broken. Devistatingly hallowed. She is a huge reason why Epstein and Maxwell and Brunel all landed behind bars and why prince Andrew lost 16 million. She did great damage to the pedophile network. But they also did great damage to her. Don't lie EFTA00154871 about her life or her death. She had kidney problems and that's not related to the bus accident. It's just something they discovered because of the accident. She wasn't doing well that's all I will say. And it was not a surprise to me at all that she took her own life. She had a 5 year nightmare with serial rapists. Honor what she did. She took them down. It damaged her. Other things did too but this this was a broken and rebuilt person. She jailed 3 of them and sued others. She brought closure to hundreds of women. She took on a team of lawyers with nothing and won. Never forget her courage and sacrifice. RIP

This email was accidentally included in the public release before being hastily redacted. In it she confirmed Virginia’s cause of death and wrote:
“My entire fight was to get justice for this young lady. She was ALWAYS ON MY MIND. Always. On. My. Mind. I reported to FBI TEN YEARS PRIOR TO THIS HERO BEING KIDNAPPED AND RAPED AS A CHILD!!! This is the most devastating sorrow and now nothing will ever be ok again. Nothing will be ok without Virginia here loving her children and animals. I will never be ok. The FBI really damaged society when they refused to listen to the fact children were being harmed.”

The May 8 email chain — filed across EFTA01653010 through EFTA01653015 — is not a single email but three hours of a woman unraveling in real time.
It begins at 8:41pm: Maria is writing directly to David Boies, and by 8:54 she is writing to Emily Steel: describing being left for dead at Wexner’s estate.
Then she starts sending photographs.
At 9:12 PM, images.
At 9:20 PM, another. At 9:35 PM she writes:
She wasn’t describing the paintings abstractly — she photographed them and sent them into the chain — below, a redacted image of a figure in warm reds and ochres, held in someone’s hand. Filed now in the federal record as EFTA01653014. The FBI has Maria’s art. She sent them pictures of them so they would understand exactly what they were holding
The final email in the chain is timestamped May 9 at 11:57 PM. It opens: “I have no idea how to survive now.”
This email chain was 3 hrs. Boies, to the paintings, to Virginia. All of it in the same breath and all of it unanswered.
Why This Is Important Beyond The Epstein Story
Because it will happen again. It always does.
Every time a powerful predator falls, there are women who made it possible. Some get settlements, some get documentaries — some get called brave, fierce and ‘extraordinary.’
And some — the ones who went to the FBI before it was safe, who gave criminal testimony when civil money was still on the table, who were used up by the prosecution and left before the compensation was divided — those women get nothing. They get hiding. They get cancer bills no one helps with, and they get to watch the world celebrate everyone except them.
Maria Farmer reported Epstein in 1996 and the FBI chose to ignore her. If they hadn't, Virginia Giuffre would never have been trafficked. Nor would countless others. That is not an opinion. That is what Maria’s lawsuit against the federal government states, and no one has disputed it.
Virginia Giuffre spent twenty years being used by every system that needed her testimony, and when it was done with her, it moved on. She died at 41, separated from her children, in a farmhouse in Western Australia, after telling people close to her she just couldn’t take it anymore.
Both of these women deserved better. Both of them are still paying — one in the present tense, one in the past.
One is still alive, still fighting, still sending emails into a void.
One is not.
